First communions are events that remind us of Jesus’ Last Supper before he was crucified for the salvation of humanity.
Jesus told his disciples that they should break bread and eat in his memory, and so Christians to this day repeat the ritual in commemoration of that commandment.
When you release white doves in a first communion, you remember the beauty of God’s creation, the peace that we as humans must have with each other, and the purity that makes people worthy of the Kingdom of God.
